Know Where You're Going

Transportation

Stay away from conventional transportation.

Clearly, transportation inside a college campus is limited and often scarce, and therefore cars will most likely be out of the question. Stay away from high traffic areas like bus stops, car parking lots and common walking areas on campus.

The best mode of transportation in general, and especially on a college campus due to its abundance, is a bike. Many abandoned bikes will be available during an outbreak, and they never need refueling. Make sure you're in good shape though, for you don't want to run out of energy when trying to pedal away from a horde of zombies.

Scooters, the infamous college-student vehicles, should be avoided if possible. Although their top speed will get you easily away from any zombies, the scooter is reliant on gas, which will become an increasing scarcity during the outbreak and nearly impossible to find on campus.

Therefore: stick to bikes, avoid scooters and high traffic areas.

Shelter

Be sure to steer clear of highly populated areas on campus such as the student student union, stadium, libraries and certain dining areas. Although these places might seem like a safe place to find campus police, protection and your missing friends, it is important not to put yourself into a hopeless situation. Many students will head in a panicked state to many of these locations, and the chances of an infected person increase with the number of survivors.

Try to find a dorm or a building on campus with multiple levels. Head to the highest but safest point, and begin to fortify your shelter. You will need materials like boards, nails, hammers and furniture to board up and block all possible entry points besides the one you will monitor.

The most ideal shelters are unique to every situation, so use your judgement well. Plan ahead and avoid potential death traps by scouting out possible locations now, before any outbreak occurs.
